OUR HISTORY
Established in 2009.
While working for a firm as a Controller in downtown Chicago, Jessica decided to start a small tax business. It began mostly with preparing tax returns for friends and colleagues and has grown exponentially from there. Originally located in the South Loop of Chicago, Reed Accounting worked closely with individuals in that area and throughout Chicago on their tax returns. Reed Accounting has now been located in Evanston since 2012 but still continues to serve clients throughout the entire Chicago area. While Reed Accounting originally started by focusing primarily on individual tax returns, they now serve many clients with a wide range of tax situations, with their main focus on small businesses and sole proprietors.

Jessica Reed, CPA
Owner
Jessica started out working as an accountant for an eSourcing company in downtown Chicago and advanced within the company to become their controller. From there Jessica moved on to work at a not-for-profit firm also in downtown Chicago. Reed Accounting was formed during this time. Jessica’s original passion for tax accounting came about while volunteering for Center for Economic Progress providing tax services for low income families.
Sonja Bruggeman
Office Manager
Sonja graduated from Boston University in 1993 with a B.A. in Political Science and went on to receive her M.A. from Northwestern University in 1996. After graduating, Sonja worked as an administrative assistant for a Chicago financial services firm until moving to Evanston in 2001. While raising her family, Sonja taught at Covenant Nursery School, and Evanston Safety Town. Sonja joined Reed Accounting in early 2019 and has exceled at using her communication and organizational skills to assist Reed Accounting’s clientele.
Lupe Carrasco
Accounting Manager
Lupe Carrasco graduated from Robert Morris with Bachelors in Accounting. She has 9 years of customer service experience. Lupe is fluent in Spanish and English.Lupe began working for Reed Accounting LLC in the fall of 2014. Lupe has background in accounting and specifically preparing taxes while volunteering with Center for Economic Progress. She has been a great asset to Reed Accounting, not only with customer service, but with assistance in tax preparation and answering our clients’ tax inquires.
Tiesha Baldwin, EA
Enrolled Agent
Tiesha began her tax preparation career in 2006 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2014. After years of working for various law firms and other tax preparers, Tiesha decided to study for the Special Enrollment Examination for the Internal Revenue Service. Since passing all 3 SEE exams, Tiesha is now an active Enrolled Agent with unlimited representation rights before the IRS on any matter including audits, payment/collection issues, and appeals. In her spare time, Tiesha enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and traveling.
Annie Nissan
Tax Preparer
Annie graduated from DePaul University in 2007 with a degree in Business Management. Annie originally worked with Jessica shortly after graduating when she was hired as a finance coordinator at an eSourcing company in downtown Chicago.After spending most of her professional career working for corporate companies, she needed to find something more flexible. She had previously earned a certification from H&R Block in individual tax accounting and decided to join the Reed Accounting team in 2016 with 9 years of accounting experience.
Reva Ramachandran, CPA
Tax Reviewer
Reva started her career in the corporate world after getting her Masters in Business Management. She joined public accounting in 2005, primarily working with small and medium business owners and assisting with their accounting and tax needs. She brings to Reed Accounting her experience and passion for solving tax issues unique to every client, researching topics and keeping up with tax law changes.
